Pernell Gerver's lecture and presentation entitled "The Best Perennials through the Four Seasons" focuses on how to create a perennial flower garden with bloom all season long by combining spring-, summer-, and fall-blooming perennials. Perennials for winter interest are also included. The program follows the seasons from spring, through summer, autumn, and into winter. Along with common perennials, the more unusual, unique, and uncommon perennials are featured. Each perennial is illustrated and described in detail such as its flower color, flower shape, bloom season, plant height, and its use in the home landscape. Cultural instructions and proper growing conditions are discussed for each perennial such as sun or shade, moist or dry, and where to grow each plant for the most success. By choosing the right perennials for the location you have, the program shows you how to create a successful and beautiful perennial garden of your own. Included is a question & answer session after the program as well as a plant sale of rare, hard-to-find, and useful plants and gardening products.
