Pernell Gerver's lecture and presentation "Introduction to Water Gardening" focuses on how to create a water garden from start to finish. Formal or informal, the program details how to design and build a water garden, from digging the hole to adding the colorful plants and fish that make a water garden complete. Instructions are given on how to build a water garden by using a preformed pool or liner. For those with limited space, or time, or both, information on tub gardens is included. Also mentioned are waterfalls and streams which are the finishing touches of a water garden. Detailed descriptions of aquatic plants including marginal or bog plants, both hardy and tropical, floating plants and submerged plants, as well as water lilies and lotus are included in the presentation. Fish and wildlife are also featured in the program. By choosing the right combination of plants and fish, the program shows you how to create a successful and beautiful water garden of your own. Included is a question & answer session after the program as well as a plant sale of rare, hard-to-find, and useful plants and gardening products.
