New Zealand Tea Tree 'Ruby Glow' (Leptospermum scoparium)New Zealand Tea Tree 'Ruby Glow' (Leptospermum scoparium) - to 3 feet tall, This shrubby house plant is prized for its abundance of small, vibrant-rosy-red flowers.  The flowers are held on stiff stems that bear aromatic foliage and bloom from winter to spring.  Its common name is attributed to the medicinal properties discovered by Captain Cook.  It's said he boiled the leaves to make a tea that prevented scurvy.  As an indoor plant, it forms a small plant that is a good candidate for bonsai.  In southern areas, it's used as an easy-care, drought-tolerant landscape shrub.  A live plant in a 3" pot - $20 each or 3 for $57.00 - You save $3.00!
