Bloodroot (shade)
canadensis: 6-10", native wildflower with pure white
flowers in very early spring. In spring a single large leaf surrounds
the flower stem. As the flower fades the leaf unfurls. Spreads to
form a carpet of color in spring. The leaves die back in late summer.
